Wavestone Foundation call for projects to combat child malnutrition
Application deadline: 16/09/24
The Wavestone Foundation is relaunching its call for projects to help underprivileged children. This year’s call for projects is aimed at associations in need of financial support to develop their projects to combat child malnutrition.
In 2024, according to the latest Unicef figures, 1 in 4 children suffer from severe poverty, i.e. 181 million children under the age of 5, and 8 million are at risk of dying from severe emaciation.
A situation that continues to worsen under the influence of global food and nutrition crises, localized conflicts and climatic shocks, particularly in fragile countries.
The Fondation has therefore thematized its call for projects for its 2024/2025campaign with the aim of supporting development projects or programs to combat malnutrition in fragile countries. These projects may be supported for periods of 1 to 3 years, up to a maximum of €10,000 per year.
Associations wishing to propose a project to the Fondation up to September 16, 2024 at midnight.
Associations are strongly advised to check the compatibility of their projects with the Foundation’s principles and activities, as set out on its website. In the context of this call for projects, please note in particular that:
- Associations applying must be based in France or in a country where Wavestone has an office (Find your nearest Wavestone office).
- Projects will be co-financed from a minimum of 10% to a maximum of 50%.
- Projects must combat severe child malnutrition, particularly in fragile countries (South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, conflict zones, etc.).
Associations may propose projects in the 2 categories below.
Please note that emergency projects are not included in this call for projects.
Classic project: setting up development or support initiatives
Projects designed to initiate or implement development or support initiatives for disadvantaged children. In this case, the Foundation is particularly attentive to the long-term impact of the proposed projects (sustainability) and to the principle of empowerment of the beneficiaries.
Special projects: support for potentially multi-year action programs
A special budget is set aside each year for a limited number of associations that require funding for more recurrent actions (e.g. regular childcare and follow-up) and the associated operating costs. These projects are selected on an ad hoc basis by the pre-selection committee.
The applications will be analyzed by a pre-selection committee made up of employees, which will meet between October 2024 and early 2025. The list of candidates selected by the Board of Directors will be announced by March 2025 at the latest.
